Leading Design at the Intersection of Technology, Operations, and Finance

Executive Design Leader with a background in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design. I’m passionate about using human-centered design to shape the strategy and execution of complex systems and digital products.

Over the past 18 years, I’ve led multidisciplinary design and product teams solving large-scale, high-impact challenges across logistics, finance, and technology.

I spent 8 years at Amazon, leading design within the global operations organization — helping build one of the world’s largest transportation networks and launching programs such as Amazon Delivery Service Partners (DSP), Amazon Logistics Platform, and the Amazon Flex Delivery App.

For the past 6 years, I’ve been leading design and strategy at Carta, reimagining financial systems for the private markets through a unified ERP platform that automates fund workflows and empowers the next generation of fund CFOs.

Design Process: From Vision to Delivery

Design Thinking – Set the Vision

Start by understanding users and defining a clear problem. Research, observe, and synthesize insights to guide the product vision. Focus: Identify needs → Generate insights → Form a concept.

Lean UX – Build the Product

Translate ideas into fast, testable experiments. Prototype, test, and refine to validate direction before scaling. Focus: Hypothesize → Prototype → Learn → Iterate.

Agile – Deliver and Improve

Design and engineering collaborate in continuous cycles. Ship quickly, measure impact, and evolve the product through feedback. Focus: Build → Launch → Measure → Improve.

Design Philosophy: Clarity Through Systems and Empathy

My approach to design combines deep domain fluency, systemic simplicity, and empathy-driven leadership. I use design to make complex systems intuitive and human.

Deep Domain Fluency

I immerse deeply in the business and technical landscape to understand how systems truly work — designing with clarity, precision, and long-term impact.

Simplicity Through Systemization

Behind every seamless experience is a structured foundation. I focus on taming operational and technical complexity so the end experience feels effortless and coherent.

Empathy-Driven Leadership

I lead by example — mentoring teams, elevating craft, and creating a culture of rigor, collaboration, and trust that empowers people to do their best work.

Leadership: Creating High-Impact Design Teams

Building and Scaling Design Teams

At both Amazon and Carta, I’ve built design organizations that have enabled multi-billion dollar business to scale. I have extensive experience defining team structures, hiring frameworks, and processes that align design impact with business outcomes. Over the past decade, I’ve conducted hundreds of interviews and hired dozens of designers, researchers, and technologists, building teams that thrive on collaboration and clarity. At Carta, I led the growth of the design function for Fund Administration, scaling it into a mature, multidisciplinary practice central to the company’s strategy.

Mentorship and Growth

I believe great design leadership means growing great designers. I’ve mentored across all seniority levels — helping early-career designers develop craft and confidence, while guiding senior leads to expand their strategic influence. My approach combines coaching in domain depth, systems thinking, and storytelling, empowering designers to connect user insight to business impact.

Design Operations and Career Frameworks

At Carta, I helped define and implement the Design Career Ladder, a transparent framework for growth across both IC and management paths. I partnered with design and product leadership to create hiring rubrics, structured feedback systems, and performance tools that support clarity, equity, and continuous development. These foundations strengthened Carta’s design culture, creating alignment between individual growth and organizational goals.
